Phat Back(story)

Who is the Phat Geezer you ask (well maybe you don’t, but I’m going to tell you anyway)? I’m you. I’m all of us. Just a regular bloke, who has spent most of a lifetime in mildly diverting (some a lot more than others!) jobs, none of which ever really lit the flame. Sure, they paid ok, enough to stick with until the degree of soul destruction became unbearable and then I’d move on. And things would be good for a while, 3 or 4 years, then the itch would start again. And this was an itch no cream could salve. For this was an itch deep in the soul.

And then I realised, it’s not a case of either/or, why not combine?

“How do I make a million” you say promoting music? “Start with two million?” I say.

So going “all in” was never going to work. But hang on I said, people play golf, fly planes, travel the country watching football/rugby/cricket/murder ball (maybe not murder ball) for fun. So this is mostly for fun. For mine and hopefully yours too.

If I can make a few quid on this as a ‘Side-Hustle’ (for those of you old enough, if that sounds like a cool dance groove by Van McCoy, here’s the original The Hustle ) that would be great, but that’s not really the main aim. The main aim is to share joy, fun and hopefully a bit of love. And maybe a few tips on starting your own ‘Side-Hustle’. Here are my top 3 to get you started.

Tip 1. (This one never gets old!)

Turn off the TV. (Seriously, you don’t need all that garbage)

Tip 2.

Say ‘yes’ as least twice as often as you say ‘no’ to things, be they experiences, projects, invitations or second helpings.

Tip 3.

Try stuff. (no, not that sort of ‘stuff’!). Even if you’re not sure you’ll like it. What’s the worst that could happen? And remember, serendipity is real.
